Patrick Cannell 2011
For bounty and for booty we sail the seven seas,
Pirates if you please.
We're on the scene
To plunder with a mandate from the Queen.

A Spanish wind is blowing toward the Isle Of Wight
But we elect to fight
With Howard and Drake
And face the cannon's roar for England's sake.

And you'd just better hope and pray
Our enterprise will save the day.

They've got cannon balls and muskets and deadly armouries
But, worse than all of these,
A troop of priests
Is poised to leap and alter our beliefs.

Shards of wood are flying and piercing men like darts
But hope is in our hearts,
The galleons flee
And head for port across the foaming sea.

And you'd just better hope and pray
Our enterprise will save the day.

We're turning the situation on its head
And it's marvellous in our eyes.
So daring and yet so well implemented,
See them run for miles.

Midnight, north of Calais, the sky is lit by flames,
Eight fire ships ablaze
Go one by one,
Scattering Medina's formation.

The cheers are resounding for now we rule the waves
And if the Queen is miserly I say
Let's powder up and take her crown as pay.

And you'd just better hope and pray
Our enterprise will save the day.

We're turning the situation on its head
And it's marvellous in our eyes.
So daring and yet so well implemented,
See them run for miles.
