Lost In Time

Derek Mathews & Patrick Cannell 2011
The wind blows east, the wind blows west.
Sometimes it seems like a hideous jest.
We're lost in time,
Lost in time.

I pay my due and muddle through
And all the while I am thinking of you,
I'm lost in time,
Lost in time.

The weather girl is telling jokes again,
Come rain or shine she is always smiling.
But just behind those charts and signs
She's lost in time.

The sun comes out, the sun goes in
And, by the hairs on my chinny chin chin,
We're lost in time,
Lost in time.

The columnist is mouthing off again,
He's as sure as he can be that eggs are onions.
But just behind those well drawn lines
He's lost in time.

The tide comes in, the tide goes out
And, though my feelings are never in doubt,
They're lost in time.

Lost In Time is a collaboration
with Derek Mathews, during
which he plays acoustic guitar.
